Matthew's quilt was made for my son Matthew when he was 12 years old. Matt played a major part in designing this quilt. It is a stripy quilt with appliqué using 1930's fabrics. The two outside strips have been hand pieced and appliquéd. The centre strip was machine pieced. We added the outside border to give the quilt a lift, using all the fabrics that were used in the centre strips. Matt still loves to wrap himself in his quilt. I have to sneak it off the bed to wash it. A great boys quilt. Matt has used it so much he is asking for a new quilt. This design would also look fantastic in reproduction or country fabrics.
